Frankly I don't know much about paintings and sculptures... but works from Pompidou are always interesting...... after talking to Alex last year, one of the curators of hku museum... I pay more attention on the theme of each exhibition. It's a guide to the masterpieces for layman like me, and the theme can sometimes give new life to those boring works.
I got a little plastic octopus folder from the exhibition, with Made in Japan - The Greal Odalisque by Martial Raysse on it. There's a big fly stuck at the top of the real work and I believe it meant to be there, but the little one on my folder omitted it...
Then comes to the Balanchine & Beyond by Hong Kong Ballet...
Theme & Variations:
traditional one, the choreography well matched with tchaikovsky music, each movement of the dancer is a note in music, the whole part is actually like the visualization of media player. But i can't stand those tutu, look a bit stupid
Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux:
a show off of the skill of the dancers, can't remember much of it
Hush:
i like this part the most, i held my breath from the beginning to the end. the music by Philip Glass is like undercurrent, calm but intense, very enticing... the choreography is clean and smooth with lots of emotions in it. and i think of silk and water when watching it
yeah yeah Xi Men Qing:
it's like porn name in chinese, a newly created work
full of masculine smell, those dancers are all of excellent skills... though music is not my favorite, it's very innovative and forceful
